J.S. Bach – On the Compassion of Salvation – Cantata BWV 76, at Trinity II

The cantata’s subject is the hate and insincerity that arises in those who lack compassion to share. The subject derives from Jesus’s parable of the great banquet.

The opening chorus, each of the two sections introduced by solos. Very good, very demanding.

The bass recitative, and bass aria, with trumpet and strings, from Part One of the cantata, the aria featuring thrilling work in the voice.
