A very fine collection taken from earlier books and with several new poems. “The Grey Islands” excerpts are particularly vivid and the narrative strains streaming through it are bound in an architecture of wave upon stone.

Steffler lived most of his life in Cornerbook, Newfoundland, for whose long ago Alcan plant I once provided human resources support out of Montreal, but now resides in that same Montreal, teaching at the university my wife graduated from.

Steffler was Parliamentary poet laureate from 2006 to 2008.
